Day of Fasting and Prayer for Immigration Reform, November 16, 2010

As people of God who are called to care for the widow, the orphan and the migrant, we seek to hear and respond to God’s voice. We are compelled to do what is right, to love mercy and

to walk humbly with our God, and to love our neighbors, including our immigrant

brothers and sisters (Micah 6:8, Luke 10:27).

As people of faith who work to seek justice for immigrants in our communities, it has…

Doing More

I have devoted this week to two major goals: Devoting my time to CauseUP that would normally be spent on Facebook, hoping to bring in new members; and better informing myself about the countries I wish to help and the options for doing so. One thing I am reading currently involves microfinance. I made a loan through Kiva.org and along with 175 others we loaned $5000 to a woman in Congo who now sells lamp oil to feed her family. Her first repayment was due this month and she was able to pay 8%… Continue

CauseUP for Project Management

I've been working on CauseUP since it's beginning. CauseUP uses a "niche" social network platform called Ning. Here are my thoughts about how Ning can work for your projects.

I’ve used Basecamp and have tried a couple other options for project management, but have realized a completely different option for project management. I now use Ning for a number of reasons.

Ning was not designed to be a project management tool. It is a DIY social network, giving anybody the ability to… Continue

Mission on Your Doorstep Conference

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Mosaic group, although I have met a few people from the apartment groups. I was wondering if there is anyone who hasn't registered yet for the Mission on Your Doorstep Conference on March 5-6, but still wants to go.

My fiancee and I would like to find a group to register with to get the group discount. If you are interested, let me know. My e-mail is skistler04@yahoo.com.

Can this get anymore frustrating?

the last week or so has been hard enough watching the people of Haiti suffer, and even die on tv and not be able to assist them, but now that I have worked so hard to educate and promote myself to make a difference in the world. Last June I suddenly was laid off from the YMCA. I had earned my stripes and had found a skill and talent I never thought I'd have. Supervising kids. It took me 5 years to become a Supervisor and have the trust, and belief from others that I had what it takes to make… Continue

Spokane News About the Dhitals

Pengala and Kamal and their children were the first Bhutanese refugees to arrive in the U.S. in February, 2008.

Kamal and Pingala knew that America offered the best hope for their children’s future.

But others in the refugee camp weren’t convinced. They feared the worst.

“You’ll be in the airplane and they’ll open the door and push you out!” warned one of their neighbors, suspicious of all offers of help… Continue
